Teens and Skincare

I'm a believer that you take care of you have and it will last longer.  That goes with anything...

I'm a product junkie and I love trying new things and letting people know what my opinion is.  I know that not everything I try will work on the next.  As my girls get older and they've become teenagers I tell them you have to take care not only of your health but also your skin.  So we started looking at products that would work best for them.  First stop we went to was Ulta!  You can pretty  much go there and find any low to high end in products.

We went through the aisles and started comparing products.  We came across this product Formula 10.0.6 and what's nice is they have a travel/starter pack.  It has everything that they needed.  As a mother/parent I always look for a kit or everything that they need in one spot and I thought this was a perfect first time deal.  So we bought it.

Both girls have used it and besides the occasional hormonal breakout their face has been clear.  So as they continued using it and wanting to re-purchase they decided to try some of the other products in the line like the micellar cleansing water, spray toner, and multiple masks.  It's gentle on their skin and has worked on some problematic areas like one mask deals with black/whiteheads.  It's fun for them as they smell good as well as helps their skin.  Right now this is working for them and I'm sure we'll find other products to try, but why not give it a go.

I don't think that your ever too young to start taking proper care of your skin.  What better time to start your teens/tweens on a daily skincare routine.  Formula 10.0.6 also has many products to choose from that you can pick and choose what's right for your daughter/son.  Don't forget to remind your daughters if they wear makeup to remove it before bed.  That's one thing I know even adults have a hard time doing.

KOPARI Beauty

During this last Sephora Rouge Sale I purchased a new skincare line called KOPARI Beauty.  I purchased the coconut rose trial kit.  This kit contains Coconut Cleansing Oil, Rose Toner, Face Cream and their lip glossy.

I love coconut, the smell and everything.  If you don't love it, this may not be something you want to try.  But let me just tell you this stuff is amazing!  I've been searching for a product that can be a one use to take off ALL makeup including mascara.

The coconut cleansing oil is definitely something you want to try out of this.  I first applied a little  water to my face and hands and put 2-3 squirts on my hand.  I then rubbed it all over my face, especially gently rubbing my eyelashes to remove the mascara.  It takes it all off!  I then grab a wash cloth and wipe it all away.

After removing all my makeup I spritz my face with the coconut rose toner, which smells divine and feels refreshing.  I then apply a small amount of the coconut face cream on and a little goes a long way.  I say I probably use a time size dollop.  To finish it off I put a little of the lip glossy on and it takes away all the dryness.

This leaves my face well hydrated at night and then I like to use it again in the morning.  The winter months are just behind us and I've been using it now that the weather has warmed up.  I tend to start becoming oilier now that it gets hot, but this is not making my makeup feel like it's sliding off my face.

These are definitely items that I will be repurchasing and keeping in my skincare rotation.  I'm also looking to try more of their lip glossy which come in two other flavors/colors.

Drunk Elephant Littles ~ Review

Cristina DiazComment

I've been using the Drunk Elephant Littles since mid-Febraury, and I've been really enjoying it.  My skin type is combination/dry in the winter and combination/oily in the summer, so I change my skincare products depending on the time of year.  The package came with a pamphlet describing each product and a suggested use for them, so I decided to go ahead and use them as it said.

The cleansing bars you could use both either day or night, but I decided to use the pekee bar during the day as the juju bar is an exfoliator.  The juju bar has an easy exfoliation so it doesn't tear your skin and can be used daily.  I feel that at night it's nice to use and take all the days pollutants away.  Even my 13 year old daughter used these on her skin and fell in love with them.  We love the way your skin feels clean and fresh after using them.

During the mornings I'll use the C-Firma Day Serum and the B-Hydra Gel.  Some mornings if my face still feels rather dry I'll add the Lala Retro Whipped Cream.  Nights I use the T.L.C. Framboos Serum and the Lala Retro Whipped Cream.  I'll also add the Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil  since I've just exfoliated.  The oil sinks into your skin and doesn't leave a greasy residue on your face.  Recently it's been more cloudy then sunny here in Arizona, but when it is on the sunnier side I've added the Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense SPF 30.

I think that they're great products and have worked on my skin like a charm.  I haven't had any dry patches while using these products, which can happen if I don't put enough hydration on my skin.  My top 3 by far have to be the cleansing bars, Lala Retro Whipped Cream for its high moisture and the luxury facial oil, for that extra non-oily hydration.

Drunk Elephant has more products that I look forward to trying out.

Peter Thomas Roth - Cucumber Gel Mask Review

Cristina DiazComment

I've heard a lot of good things about the Peter Thomas Roth Line.  During the holidays you can find all kinds of sample kits to try, which I always love to get.  You can get skincare, makeup and perfume kits.  So this past December when Sephora was having there VIB Rouge or 20% off sale, I picked up a few skincare kits.  The #PTR Cult Classics package I purchased had this Peter Thomas Roth Gel Mask.

A little about my skin first.  I have combination skin, but during the winters I have combo/dry skin and opposite during the summer.  As I'm getting older I like to try and make my skin stay youthful and hydrated.

My skin is so dry that I like to try and calm the redness and pulling that can sometimes happen.  It can also get patchy as well.  I pulled this mask out of the package, when I received it early December,  and tried it one morning when my skin was feeling super dry, red and patchy.  After washing my face I applied a generous layer of the mask on and let it sit for 10 minutes.  After the 10 minutes I gently washed it off and loved how it felt on my skin.  It didn't feel irritated or dry anymore and I proceeded to  put my makeup on.  The mask calmed my skin so much that it didn't leave any patchiness showing through the makeup.  The package says you can use it 1-2 times weekly or even daily.  That first week I used it daily as my skin need to get back to normal. Now that it's been about a month I use it probably twice a week so that it doesn't get to the point of being dry and patchy.

This is definitely one product that I would say everyone needs in their routine who has pretty dry skin.  Once I've gone through this sample I will definitely be repurchasing the full size.
